No Video with Netgear WGR614v6

So... I've read it all in here... My old netgear router died, I had never had any ichat problems with it. I bought a new netgear router, the fancy one with "wireless" no less. (WGR614v6).

So here we go:
- My home setup is three computers so I cant' do port forwarding.
- I have tried Port triggering as shown in several posts here and it's a no go.
- I turned of port triggering and turned on UPnP and that didn't work either.
- I disabled SPI Firwall in the WAN setup menu
- I have all correct ports open on all machines in the sharing pref pane.
- I can connect to all the tests machines that I found in posts here. (appleu3test02 for example)
- I changed my quicktime stream to 1.5M
- I have bandwith set to NONE in ichat preference/video
- I can connect to some people but not to others. It's very strange. This goes for PC or none PC users. All these people I could connect to before.
- My ISP was Comcast which was just bought by Time Warner (Would this be it?)
- Skype works with everyone of course !!!
- I had to set my server port in ichat to 443 at first to even connect but somehow today I put it back to 5190 and it works.
- When I launch an AV chat, I get "Video starting..." and then I get an error type 8

Did you configure your router like this:

Set your Mac to use DHCP on the ethernet port.
Connect your Mac to a LAN socket on your router with an ethernet cable.
Power up the router, and watch as your mac picks up an IP (like 192.168.1.2)
Open Safari and go to 192.168.1.1
Log in. Netgear usually puts the default admin uname/passwd on the label of the router.
Configure using the handy web interface.
When you save the configuration, the router will restart. It should reconnect in 10 seconds or so.

I've been having the same issue with this router. Works with one friend but not the other, depending on what type of router they are using (odd I know). I too have been trying (what I think) is everything, but I'll admit this is out of my league. I'll tag along and hope something works. I've frequented Ralphs site often, but had no luck yet. Many thanks go to all of you who put time and energy into fixing other's problems...you are appreciated!

Hmm, not sure what to suggest on that one then. It could just be an isolated coincidence. Mine is still working and I haven't had any problems. My IP is set up in the DMZ though too. Sadly I think that the router is just a piece of sh**. I have four macs wired into mine, and I'm running wirelessly, but I'm having trouble with remote desktopping and all sorts of things. For me it's going to be worth the money to buy an Airport.

I really doubt your connection issues are related to enabling the ping option, unless when you disabled it it re-connected. Like I said though, five or more macs and PCs running on mine with no problems...

Good luck!
