How much will cost to fix a macbook pro

a few days ago my MBP ran out of battery so i went to grab a power cord. I slipped over while holding the MBP in hand. It flew to the ground and had an obvious but small dent. I went and charged it and it charges and the display is on but it shows a black screen and a glow at the dented corner

I would like to know how much will it cost to repair as I am currently studying abroad and I need a laptop for class. It will be frustrating to pay the price for half a MBA just to fix a 2013 13” MBP as I do not have a lot of funds around

A 2013 MBP isn’t vintage or obsolete just yet, so the parts are likely in warehouse somewhere waiting be ordered. But the AppleCare warranty will be over, so the costs of parts and labor are on you.

You should bring it to an Apple Store or Apple Certified Reseller/Service Provider. They’ll probably send it off to a specialist to look at for a standard fee, and then should be able to give an estimate for the actual repair. They might even lend you a machine for the period that yours is away.

Get a limit for yourself in advance: if the repairs are more than X, then it is not worth it.
