Bluetooth Stereo Ford Sync/iPhone Problem

I have the strangest problem. My iPhone all of a sudden will not connect with my BT Stereo on my 2016 Ford Explorer Ford Sync. Oddly enough, the phone works for calls via Bluetooth, but it wont play music, podcasts...etc. I disconnected my phone from my cars Bluetooth, made it forget my phone & reconnected it. I have done everything. I tested out my kids iPhone . Same problem. I even updated my iPhone (which I didn't want to do. Last time I did that with my older iPhone the update rendered my old iPhone near useless, so I had to get a new one). When I scroll down the menu on the Sync on the car & hit BT Stereo, it just reverts back right away to radio.

Help.

@doug92,

I'm having the same problem. I know this was working as recently as last week!? I found your post while searching for a fix. Ironically, I replaced my aging iPhone 6s with an 8+ just over a month ago to overcome battery and performance issues. Just like you mentioned, calls work over bluetooth, but no music. Sync just doesn't seem to be able to recognize the device. I wonder if something got changed in the profiles and Sync has no way to look for them?? I've thrown the question to a small subreddit, but maybe it also should be posted to a larger one to get more eyes on it?
