Thanks for sharing your experience, simonkazda.
What to say?... it's really difficult (for me) to diagnose your issue remotely, and I really would like to understand if it is a hardware or software problem.
When, on my previous post I wrote:
....Or you can try and install a fresh copy of iOS, restoring your iP8 to factory settings.
To perform this operation, make a full backup of your iPhone, then follow the steps provided in this support guide, and at the end set it up as new:
Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support
Test your device, then restore your data from your previously made backup....
I forgot to point out that you should test your iP8 for a while (maybe for some hours) before restoring your data from backup.
In that situation, your iPhone is empty, restored to factory settings, it's using only apps that come along with iOS, without any data, and, if you still have crashes at 85% of your battery capacity, then... it should be a hardware issue (and your iphone is still under warranty). Go to the Apple Store and demonstrate your issue.
On the contrary, if your iPhone works fine (without crashes) in such situation, then it could suffer from software (apps) or data, or settings problems coming from your backup. You can verify it after restoring from your backup.
What to do?... you don't have many options: you can survive with the crashes (not recommended) or you can try to find/investigate what setting, what apps, what data are causing your issue, adding them one by one....
I don't see any further suggestions, sorry.
Maybe at Apple Store you'll find a technician who can better help you.
Please keep me informed.
Thanks and regards
