Wifi Hotspot Difficulties

Hello,

First of all thanks for taking the time to look at my question.

I have a iPhone X and my carrier is Verizon. I have their Unlimited Data plan.

I use my phone as a wifi hotspot to play on my PS4 and just recently (within the past 2 weeks) it has been giving me difficulties. When my PS4 is connected it works very smoothly with no lag at all, but every so often (5-10 mins) my PS4 will disconnect. (same thing happens when using hotspot with laptop as well) Then it will try to reconnect to my phone, sometimes it will successfully reconnect, sometimes it will not. Any thoughts of what could be causing this or any ways to fix it?

I am aware that going over the hotspot limit will slow down your connection, this is not the issue. I also made sure I update my phone. I called Verizon they had me reset my carrier settings. None of these worked.

Perhaps there is a way to reset your network settings on your two devices? I don't use a PS4 often so I don't have much knowledge there but try looking through the settings. As for your laptop, it could be a number of things. I had the same issue with mine, except it was with my home WiFi. All I had to do was contact my ISP and the issue was fixed.

I believe there is a driver for connecting to the WiFi in your laptop. Theoretically, all you would need to do is update said driver. But, be careful when looking for things like this. There are hundreds scams out there. I was scammed out of a ton of money when doing this, You should only download these updates from certified Windows (if your laptop runs Windows) webistes/dealers, and most are even free for these types of services.
