Windows 10 and LG Ultrafine compatibility
I have a late 2016 15" MacBook Pro (Radeon 455 graphics) and I've recently just dual booted my computer with Windows 10. I saw a thread regarding the Windows 10 Creators update causing problems with the LG Ultrafine displays. I wasn't able to respond to that thread anymore so am instead making a new one. I bought this computer back in January of 2017 and dual booted it then. The display worked pretty much fine then (though the volume seemed to get too loud). I just Boot Camped my machine again and installed the latest version of Windows 10. Everything went smoothly and all the Boot Camp drivers installed just fine. I made sure to update the bootcamp drivers to the latest available.
I just plugged in my Ultrafine 4k display for the first time under Windows 10 (creators update) and the screen will come on for about 3-10 seconds and then just shut off. No amount of unplugging and replugging the cable will resolve this issue. I've seen from some other threads that the creators update seems to have caused this problem. I was dual booting my machine last year and I didn't have this problem. I'm curious to know if anybody has managed to find a solution. I need to use Windows for some applications that just aren't available on MacOS and I would like to get my external display working.
