Forgot RESTRICTIONS passcode
I forgot the restrictions passcode on my son's iPad Mini.
I tried resetting the iPad while connected to iTunes... but it won't do that with "FIND MY IPAD" enabled. It directs me to go to iCloud to turn that off. Problem is... I can't get to iCloud on the iPad without disabling restrictions.
I've tried...
- Logging into iCloud via my laptop and removing the device. Didn't work. What it DID do was make me create a better password so now... not only can I not remove the restrictions... I can't access iTunes store to update the password.
- Using iBotcopy to back-up / ammend the code / and restore using the ammended backup. Didn't work (because FIND MY IPAD is enabled)
- Starting the iPad in "recovery mode" while connected to iTunes. Didn't work. Simply says "Device won't connect until you enter the device password." As soon as I do that... I'm not in recovery mode anymore. And I can't change or remove the passcode because I can't get past the restrictions screen.
This is REALLY frustrating the crap out of me. Somewhere... there needs to be a nuclear button that over-rides everything - blows it up - and starts fresh.
Do I need to take this to a Genius Bar?
HELP!!!!
