My Mac always gives error when I try to do the access in iMessage and FaceTime. On my iPhone they both work so I don't explain why it doesn't work on my Mac. Do you have the answer to my question?

Does the error say anything?

What error are you getting when you try to use either iMessage or FaceTime on your MacBook Air (MBA)?
If you can't sign in to your iMessage account or FaceTime on your Mac - Apple Support
I have the same problem. The error that give to me is: "Could not sign in to iMessage. An error occurred during activation. Try again."
