purchased movies not playable until restarting iTunes

OS X High Sierra

iTunes 12.7.3.46

After I've played a few movies, eventually the movies I've purchased that are streamed stop being able to be played. The "play" arrrow on the movie frame is no longe present, like below.

I can resolve this by stopping and restarting iTunes, but I shouldn't have to.

Reauthorizing the computer within iTunes does not resolve the issue. Only a restart of iTunes does.

See the play arrow is now present after I restart iTunes.
