YouTube videos fail over AirPort

For the past couple days, videos played via YouTube app or web site in Safari all iOS devices fail after the initial hunk (usually just several seconds) has played. No more data will buffer. Changing the playhead to another location doesn’t cause it to load. Just sits and spins.

I’ve restarted the cable modem, updated the AirPort’s firmware, restarted devices, etc.

Macs can play the same videos in Safari by both Ethernet and AirPort.

Is this a bug in something or is there something I can try? All iOS devices are up to the current version, whatever that is this minute.

Mac Pro (Late 2013), macOS High Sierra (10.13.1), Superdrive

This might be an iOS issue rather than anything to do with the airport.

Considering the Mac works I am guessing when you say..

both Ethernet and AirPort.

That airport here means wifi in the computer.

What airport router are you talking about and how is it setup??

A screenshot from the airport utility is a big help.

Particularly I want to see if you have double NAT error or anything else going on.

I’ve restarted the cable modem, updated the AirPort’s firmware, restarted devices, etc.

You have not listed it but usually the best idea is to reset your airport to factory and reconfigure it from scratch.

Use short names with no spaces and pure alphanumerics. NOT APPLE RECOMMENDED NAMES.

Passwords should be similar .. pure alphanumerics but can be 8-20 or more characters.

Clear out all the old wireless names from the iPhone/ipad. Then power it off and on again.. and reconfigure the wireless with the new name.

Make sure your testing in close proximity to the Airport.

No luck I would post in iOS area.. as the issue I think is unlikely to be the airport router.

I wanted to post in an iOS area, but that wasn’t an option when it asked me to choose an area. And of course there isn’t a YouTube area. The fact that it works fine over cellular is another reason I choose this area.

It’s the big AirPort - the tall one. All the settings were fine a few days ago. I’m not going to change the AirPort or network names or passwords. They’re fine.

I know what WiFi means. I’m using AirPort here more as a generic term - connearing to it vs. Ethernet.
