iPhone X fast charging after 50%

I know it takes the iPhone X about 30 minutes to get up to 50% with the 29W USB-C adapter.

So, after the 50% mark does it just charge at 'regular speed'?

I remember an article or a discussion that said something about this, but I cannot find it. I could not remember at exactly what percentage it stops fast charging. I know it goes really slow after 80% (which is normal).

Thanks for your time.

Apple doesn’t have any specific numbers other than a Mac can provide up to 2100 mA. That’s the max current from a ISB-A power supply.

There have been a few tests done. I remember one that showed a line graph. Fast charge is a tiny bit faster.

This one is the most detailed:

Hi, jessemooney.

I see you'd like to learn a bit more about the battery of your iPhone X and I'm happy to help.

Batteries - Why Lithium-ion? -- Charging slows down once the battery has been charged to 80% of its capacity.

It charges fast for convenience and slow for longevity.

Your Apple lithium-ion battery uses fast charging to quickly reach 80% of its capacity, then switches to slower trickle charging. The amount of time it takes to reach that first 80% will vary depending on your settings and which device you’re charging. Software may limit charging above 80% when the recommended battery temperatures are exceeded. This combined process not only lets you get out and about sooner, it also extends the lifespan of your battery.

Take care!
