Phone numbers deleted reappear as soon as I refresh

My mother retired, so I go into her contact and delete her work number, work cell, and fax. Close the contact and open it back up, and they are right there. Why won't they delete?

Where might her contact information be housed?

Check Settings > Accounts & Passwords. What accounts, if any, show "Contacts"?

Are you certain you actually edited and deleted and saved the contact?

how do I get it out of both?

What does "it" mean?

  • The contact? Either delete the contact source from Settings > Accounts & Passwords or delete one source, then delete the contact, then turn that source on and the other off and delete the contact again.
  • The phone numbers? Again, Settings > Accounts & Passwords turn one source off, delete the info, then turn that source on and the other off and repeat.

A much better solution, however, is to house your contacts in exactly one place and not two.
