Basso sound when I open MacBook Pro w Touchbar

A few days ago, my computer started to play the Basso Sound Effect when I open the lid. It won't do it when I restart.

After reviewing a few post, I have not found a similar problem. I uncheck the "Play user interface sound effects", and still doing the noise when I open the lid.

I am not sure if a program is doing it, but I have not installed any new programs, or changes in my pc.

I'd like to know how can I identify what is causing this sound.

Thank you,

MacBook Pro TouchBar and Touch ID, iOS 11.3

Good morning zian21,

It sounds like you’re having some trouble with the sound effects on your MacBook, and it’s playing the sound when you open the lid but not when you restart. I’ll be happy to help out with this.

Reset the SMC using these steps, which can resolve issues that occur when “waking” up a display: How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support

Also reset the NVRAM which can help with sound issues: How to reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

After these resets, test out the display and see if the sound is still sounding when “waking” the display. If it is, try click the Apple in the Apple Menu > System Preferences > Sound > Sound Effects > and turn “Alert Volume” all the way down to see if that silences it for you.

Take care.
