Canon MP520 printer does not have a driver

My Canon PIXMA MP250 printer is not finding a relevant driver. It used to work with Mountain Lion I'm now running Sierra 10.12.6).

I tried downloading - MP520 series Printer Driver Ver. 6.9.3 (Mac OS X 10.2/10.3/10.4/10.5) from the canon website but the iMac does not seem to register it. Neither can I point to it as I don't know where it has been installed in the filing system (I tried library, printers and System, library, extentions).

iMac, macOS Sierra (10.12.6)

Greetings, Shouldertufts!
Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you are having an issue downloading the drivers for your Canon MP520 printer and I’m happy to help! I recommend you go to this link for Support | MP Series | PIXMA MP250 | Canon USA and select Sierra (macOS 10.12) to see the correct drivers for your printer. Once they are downloaded, they should be in your Downloads folder for you to install.
Let me know the results and take care!
