I'm having problems trying to record mixes into Garageband from my Allen&Heath 23c mixer (built in sound card)The mixer is connected via USB to my macBook Air, it gets a signal but I can't change the input settings to 1&3 as thats what I need, only have 1&2 or 3&4 as an option.If I select either it will record BUT when the mixer is playing track out of channel 3, Garageband still records the signal from channel 1 even though the crossfader is on the opposite channel, help !ThanksKris

Hi,

Using a Behringer 1204USB mixer with GarageBand on an iMac to record radio shows as live I'm wanting to record my regular radio show using a Behringer 1204USB mixer and GarageBand. I want to record the show 'as live' rather than in blocks of audio on separate tracks. I have the mixer connected via USB and stereo splitter cable from the Line In stereo aux sends in the mixer and then connected to the iMac via a 3.5mm headphone jack. I have successfully been able to record my speech into GarageBand. I'm wanting to play in music to the show using channel 7/8 of the mixer (the stereo channel) with music content coming from my iTunes. Problem I have is that when I play the recording back my speech comes out but the music I play is not audible on the track. I figure I've not clicked on the right setting in GarageBand or alternatively have a button on the mixer either pressed in or not pressed in. I've watched endless YouTube tutorials to try and work this out so far to no avail. Any help/suggestions as to what might be the issue or issues here would be very welcome. I'm new to mixers and have used GarageBand before now for recording radio shows using a USB condensor mic and for editing only so I'm far from an expert on either the Behringer 1204 or GarageBand. line in/aux input on 2017 MacBook Pro(MBP)...new to MAC user I am a DJ and a new MAC user and I am using a mixer with DVS interface and I am trying to see if there is an option for this MAC to recognize a "line in/aux"? I only see "internal mic" for input in system properties>sound tab along with the DVS interface. I only see "internal output" for output on same tab. Prior versions had a dropdown for "internal input" but I do not have on this MBP. I need so I can record my sets. My setup works to play out but I cannot record without the "line in"

Garageband won't record live instruments I have recorded many projects on GarageBand using this same setup. I know how to set the correct input in the Preferences area. Suddenly, I can't record any live instruments. I can hear the mic in my headphones, I can record audio with this setup in QuickTime, I can record software instruments via MIDI. I've opened old projects and tried to record new audio on previously used tracks and cannot.My Mac is recognizing this microphone (recording in QuickTime), GarageBand recognizes my interface, this leads me to believe there is an issue with GarageBand itself.Any clue what's going on?
