Running FCPx on External Hard Drive, lost event, how to restore?

I was editing on FCPX 10.2.3 Which I run through my external terabyte. The media is all set to backup and store everything on the terabyte in the final cut pro-library there.

I accidentally unplugged my terabyte while moving my laptop and the app started to freak out because the media was gone. I quickly closed FCP and when I opened it back up after re-entering the terabyte, the only thing missing was the event I was editing in.

All the project files, all the media, gone. The name of the event is still there but now it's just an empty category of the entire library.

I tried to restore FCP from an automatic backup, but it seems to only open backups of the empty version stored on my mac, even though I have the files set to backup on the hard drive. Perhaps there is a way to open a backup stored on the hard drive?

The thing is when I open some old versions of the library (for some reason there are some really old ones available but nothing recent enough to be helpful) it shows the name of my projects flashing on the loading bar, but once it opens they are gone.

Please help! It's a very important project!
