iPhone proximity sensor problems

FYI, Since I started using iOS12 beta, this issue has never persisted.

Hard reset worked for about a day. Did a factory reset only worked for a day. So annoy

As suggested the hard restart worked! Been dealing now with this for awhile now, I could have sworn I had restarted my phone, but just did it, and it did the trick.

Same here! Hard reset worked for me!

As already written in my first post, if the issue persists, have your iPhone inspected at Apple Store or AASP.

Honestly, I’ve been having this problem for a while - I did a Force Reset last night, and it’s doing it again today. But it does temporarily fix the issue.

It’s does this after every update why ?

I tried a soft reset seem to work for a while but the next day I am having the same problem something seems to be triggering it in the software perhaps.

This solution works but this issue happens again a day later. It’s only a temporary fix. I have had to reset it 4 times now.

If the issue still persists, as suggested in my first reply, it might be a proximity sensor hardware issue.

Have your iPhone inpected at an Apple Store.

Either restart your iPhone or go to Settings -> Messages and turn off Raise to Listen. Problem solved. You can turn it back on if you want.

Yes my phone goes black once I wave my hand or put my finger on the sensor, why is it doing it? And how can I stop it?

For me it was as simple as a phone restart. No hard reset required. Try that first and then take it up a level if necessary
