endnotes

endnotes

I am not seeing any options to use endnotes in Pages 7.0. It is only allowing me to enter footnotes with no option to switch them to endnotes. I've used endnotes in previous versions with no problems, but the "EndNote Citation" option from the "Insert" menu is grayed out now. Also, the "Format" side bar menu doesn't even offer a footnotes menu, as it used to. I've tried downloading the Pages EndNote plugin v3.1, but that didn't fix anything.

Any help would be humbly appreciated. Thanks!

Numbers 7.0 (and, as far back as I can remember, Numbers 5 and Numbers 6) click in the body text and Menu > Insert > Footnote.

Hi gonzo,

Aha, I see. EndNotes is a third party app. I have not used it.

Pages has Footnotes and Endnotes built in. (Not the same as the purchased EndNotes).

You can not have both Footnotes and Endnotes in a document. You must choose.

Perhaps this is what you want to do.

Pages 7.0 (and maybe in Pages 5 and 6, as I recall from memory)

Click in any Footnote

Click on Type to see this Pop-Up Menu

Is this what you want to do?

Thank you, Ian. My original question was why I am no longer able to make simple endnotes, but only footnotes. I purchased EndNotes, but I'm finding it to be incredibly over the top for what I need. Why is it so complicated to cite references at the end of my document instead on the bottom of the page with a footnote?

Thank you, Ian. My problem is that the Footnotes tab next to the Text tab from the Format menu does not appear as it did with a previous version of Pages that you are showing. There simply is no Footnotes menu to do anything with.

Hi Gonzo,

The footnote tab does not appear in the format panel until you insert a footnote (from the Insert menu on the menubar at the top of the window) and place the cursor in the footnote. Then, in the footnote tab, you can change it to an endnote under the Type pop-up menu.
