Microphone not working on iPhone 7

I took mine to an authorized service provider. Without doing anything, they said I need to replace the phone and will cost me 399€. Of course I didn’t do that because new iPhone 7 in Finland costs about 450€. I decided to contact Apple anyways. Like always they were very professional and really helpful. So they said even though my warranty is long over (25 months old phone), under Finnish consumer law, these type of problem which is obviously manufacturing issues, need to be fixed for free. They asked me to take it back to service provider and ask for the consumer law process. So I did. The phone has been there for a week now and I have t heard anything from them. But most likely my phone will be replaced for free. And if they decide for any B.S reason not to change it, I will contact the consumer protection agency and see what they have to say. You guys better look into law as well.

Consumer laws not that effective in India. Will have to use the defective iPhone 7 plus with bluetooth headset, unless I spend money again to buy a new phone. If Apple does not pay attention to customer complaints, it would be soon that even customers treat Apple the same way by not giving them repeat business.

Apple changed my defected iPhone with for free. Earlier I posted a explaining the process which I went through. Following Finnish consumer’s law, Electronic devices need to last at least three years. If the defect is from manufacturing that is. Nonetheless, I was very surprised that Apple guarantees their phones for one year. Why so short? I’m glad that Finnish laws protecs me from enterprise greed and the evil of business. But then again it is us the consumers who feed this cycle. 850€ for a phone which has no guarantee to work more than 12 months is nuts!

To be able to make phone calls again all you need to do is buy some Bluetooth earphones. Annoying but not too expensive you can pick some up for £30 on Amazon. Probably find a cheaper pair.
