Upgrade to high sierra, will it slow my system?

Hi. I currently have Sierra. If I upgrade to High Sierra will it slow my system? Will there be any improvements to performance or just new tools? I don't really want new tools and my system is pretty slow as it is. Streaming is jerky, apps load slowly, etc. MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) 2.5 GHz Intel Core i7 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048 MB Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), macOS Sierra (10.12.6)

Yes it can if you install unknown apps / softwares , antivirus you can run https://etrecheck.com/

And post the results .

No Mac should be performing that slowly. Something is wrong, and upgrading macOS isn't going to fix it.

For now please determine if the same problems occur in "Safe Mode": Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support.
