mail server settings gone

Hi,

When I try to change account settings, I go to Mail, Preferences, Accounts. If I choose an account, under Server Settings all settings are gone and only Account Outgoing E-mail is present. This happend shortly after ugrading to High Sierra version 10.13.3 as far as I can see.

Anyone ideas?

Thx!

See this article Automatically manage connection settings in Mail on your Mac - Apple Support

Leave the settings as it is even if you try your best to alter these settings it won't change , these settings are done automatic like no need to have enter port settings , fill up the username and password and rest of credentials .

See this screen shot for Mac OS high Sierra 10.13.4 for an IMAP account .

Apple mail application is a configuration to web mail account ( gmail services ) , the passwords for gmail account are always changed at server account .

The gmail account is secured by the google services and are giving priviledges to google user and they protect your gmail account , there was no method previously to change password from apple mail application .

So , its not of question of handy , suppose you gave permissions to any one to change gmail password from apple mail application , so what is the purpose of security it will fade out .

Hi Tygb,

Thx but that isn't the problem. I can't even change the password. The complete list is empty. I know the settings shouldn't be altered but besides that, changing a password should be handy, not?

For the last few versions of the OS, the correct place for changing an account password is in System Preferences->Internet Accounts, not in the preferences of Mail.
