i was facetime audio calling a contact but my phone got stuck on call ending. I am on ios 11.3 on my iphone x. It doesnt allow me to shutdown or restart

On your iPhone X: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.
Have had same issue on my ipX. My wife experienced on her ip8. What’s going on
Same issue I am facing with IPhoneX with latest iOS. FaceTime keep hanging and need to force restart of my device, some it is not allowing me to shutdown.
Wow! I’m shocked at how many of us with the same problem out there. Apple, please, fix this, for the 1000€ phone indeed should work like a German made machine!
if it dosent let you restart you might just have to wait for it to die then just charge it up and start like normal
It has almost been a year, and this problem is STILL a constant issue. None of up software updates address this issue still...

It happened to my brand new iphone xs too, i bearly had it for 3 days, idk of its the phone that is defictive or the system , thats insane! It would not restart

It wouldn’t let me open any apps. So I pressed the volume up button, volume down button, and then held the lock Button until I saw the Apple logo. It worked for me, good luck!
I am not even able to access settings. I can't even turn off the screen 😠
