My sound will be super slow and deep for a brief time - the person on the other side of the call says I sound like a chipmunk.
iPhone 6s Plus, iOS 11.3, Airpods - first production
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth and tap the icon next to your AirPods.1 Then tap Forget This Device.
- Put your AirPods in the case and close the lid. Wait 15 seconds, then open the lid.
- Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until you see the status light flash amber a few times, then flash white.
- Place your AirPods close to your device. Follow the steps on your iOS device's screen.

I am having the same issue with my 7plus. It seems to happen at least once per call.
I am getting the same problem with my 7+. Just wondering if the problem is happening with the 8/8+ or X iphones?

I have a Plantronics Bluetooth earpiece and have this same problem. Looks like not specific to ear buds
Has anyone confirmed that this only happens on iPhone 7/7+ and 6/6+...does it not happen on iPhone 8/8+/X?

I have the same issue... I reset my phone as new and now I hear the chipmunk.
From reading other discussion sites, it does appear to be isolated to iPhones 7 (primarily) and 6 (some). That might be due to few people using the 6?
This is also happening to me. My work phone is a 7 and my personal phone is a X and the AirPods have this issue on both. It is incredibly frustrating to explain this to people on phone calls!

I went to the Apple store in Milwaukee and they acted like I was Crazy because they said they never heard of the problem.
