Someone has added me to their family sharing and used my Apple ID to make purchases. I have cancelled the purchases and been refunded. I want to leave the family sharing as I can't now update my apps as their payment details are incorrect.

One possibility is somebody has determined your Apple ID password and has logged in and set up Family Sharing on your account so they can download anything you purchase. You need to:
Change your Apple ID password - https://appleid.apple.com/
Leave Family Sharing - http://support.apple.com/HT20108
Set up two factor authentication:

Uses a "trusted" device to receive a passcode to verify adding a device.

Thanks for the feedback. I had reported this issue to the hosts because others were reporting it too. The hosts passed it upstairs, but sometimes reporting is a one-way means of communication. 😐 it is nice to be able to tell new people posting with the issue that Apple is working on it. 🙂

It's a hack known by Apple and they are trying to resolve it
