iPhone dictation working terrible

I have an iPhone 8 and the latest update (11.3) and the speech to text is working terrible. It does ok when I say... "call Joey" or whoever. But if I am trying to dictate a text for instance it is just terrible. It completely misses what I am trying to say. Not even close. What is going on here. It use to work good, or at least better than this.
