iPhone X proximity sensor always on?

Same problem here. A simple reboot helped. Not “soft reset”, just simply turning the phone off then back on again

This solution worked. Had the same issue when finger moved to “shade” sensor area the whole screen goes black. Just turned off phone then back on and no issues since. I have update 11.4 btw

My phone was doing it too I did the update and it doesn’t do it anymore.

My sister had the same problem and I think that they fixed the problem with the most recent software update because updating her software fixed the problem.

You have a faulty phone or I do.

My proximity sensor is only active during a phone call.

I just covered the entire area where the sensors are and nothing happened unless I made a phone call.

I have exact thing happen, it goes off about a inch away. I’m hoping it’s from the last update.

Mine does this too even after updating and restarting phone.
