Hi, I own an iPhone 7 and recently I’ve wanted to set a Live Photo as my wallpaper. I can set it as my wallpaper, and it the previews it is a Live Photo, however, once it is my wallpaper and I hard press to try and see it, it just goes black. Is there any way I can fix this? I have tried restarting my phone and different ways to set my wallpaper.
How did you save it as Wallpaper? If by the conventional means of going to Settings > Wallpaper try a different approach
Go to your photo folder. Choose the live photo you want to use. Use the bottom left square with the up arrow. Slide the bottom row of option to the left and tap Use as Wallpaper.
See if that works better.
Try using another live photo to see if it's just that photo or all live photos. It could be there's not enough resolution from the front facing camera to work as a Live Wallpaper?
I have tried setting it as a wallpaper both of those ways and it still just goes black
It was a Live Photo taken during a FaceTime call (when you press the white button in the corner)
With a Live Photo both front and back cameras work if you set them as a wallpaper. I would think if you take a FaceTime Live Photo that it would work just like a normal Live Photo.
I think I figured it out. With Live Photos taken with the normal camera, it works as a wallpaper, however Live Photos taken during FaceTime go black. Could this be a bug?
I doubt it's a bug. It's more likely what I suggested that the resolution is not high enough from the front facing camera.
I don’t think so, because the other Live Photos were the same resolution as the one I’m trying to set
Were you using the rear facing camera or the front facing camera. They are not close in resolution.
You didn't answer my question. When you took the live photo with facetime was it from the front facing or rear facing camera? You could have uncovered a bug.

Then it's either that particular live photo or the fact it was going through Facetime. I don't know how else to help you. Sorry.
