Monitor/headphone problem

After many successful recordings, I suddenly hear can't hear the track I just recorded in my headphones (which are plugged into the back of a PreSonus AudioBox USB96). And when I go to other previous recordings, I can't hear them through my headphones anymore, only through the computer monitor. How do I switch it back the way it was?

At first I thought I had made the classic mistake of leaving my monitors on while recording with headphones. Nope. I have repeated this several times now. Why won't Sound Preference Show Headphone as Input? I've tried using GarageBand, Audacity, Quicktime, simply to record some music I have on Mini-Disc, via the headphone/audio input/output connection, and yet, it won't show up as an input option for any of them! It shows as an output, but the only input listed is microphone. I need to make these recordings tonight, and don't know what to do. Why isn't this working the way it should?

We cannot hear our original track when trying to record over it. Logic Pro X 10.4.6 & OS 10.14.6 Hi, We have recorded a piano audio track, but have made a small mistake. We want to re-record over the mistake, but keep the rest of the track. We can hear the track perfectly when we just play back. During re-recording we want to hear our original recorded piano track and then play over the bit where we made the mistake. We want to remain on the same track (not create a new track) The problem is: When we click record, the original piano track goes silent. But we need to hear it. Can anyone help us with our settings, so that we can hear our original piano audio track when re-recording over it? Many thanks.

Select your AudioBox USB96 in GB's prefs as the Output Device:
