imovie "open in" is defaulting to good reader

Using the apple teacher iMovie guide. when trying to down load iMovie files using link in document, "open in"is defaulting to good reader. I am now having difficulty getting the files into iMovie. There is no open in link for imovie in good reader. I have tried to copy, reload, transfer file, to iPad files and iCloud drive. I still cannot get the project files into iMovie. 1> how do I fix the imove" open in" defaulting to good reader. 2> is the file link in the document faulty. 3>Why does iMovie not appear in "open in "menu

iPad Pro Wi-Fi, iOS 11.0.3

The filename for that project is ostensibly wrong. It should really end .iMovieMobile not .zip. I was able to workaround that by using More... then saving into Dropbox where I was able to edit the filename and/or extension before saving. However once the project is stored on the device it still won't open properly from the Files app. That results in a grey screen with the legend iMovie Project Bundle. If you open iMovie however the icon of the square box with the downward arrow (download icon?) can be used to open the project in iMovie.

I've no idea if Safari/iMovie would do a better job with the right filename.

I would start by rebooting your device, then open iMovie, then try again.

It may be completely unrelated but there was a thread yesterday where a user wasn't getting the option to open in Excel that they were expecting, however after some time of trying to find different ways to open the files it came back to them. There may be an issue where your device isn't properly registering which apps are available to handle which types of content. I'm hoping the suggestion above might help get iMovie listed again.
