Portrait mode pictures turn into regular pictures

Hello! All my pictures that I took in portrait mode suddenly turned into regular pictures. I have to go to edit and manually turn the picture back to portrait. I’m using iPhone X iOS 11.3 Any idea how I can get this fixed? Thank You.

Sorry, not sure what you mean when you indicate that you have to edit the photos to make them portrait. There is no edit that can do that since Portrait Mode has to do with depth of field, which is not something that you can create after the photo has been taken: Use Portrait mode on your iPhone - Apple Support

What is it that you are trying to do, exactly?

Thank you for your reply. When you take a picture on your iPhone X, you can select Portrait mode with different light settings. Once the photo is saved to your iPhone photo, if you click edit, you have the option to remove this setting from the picture. After updating my iOS to 11.3, all the photos that had the portrait setting, no longer had it applied. I re-activated all the photos with portrait mode, but the next morning the portrait setting was removed again.

OK, I understand now.

Since I have not seen other posts regarding this issue, it doesn't sound like it is an iOS issue. I would recommend that you try resetting your device as follows:

Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.

Best,
