Virus/ Malware

Hi all,

I sent out an email today with an attached pdf file, I got a response back saying "to check my computer a virus ' Trojan:Script/Cloxer.D!cl ' was found with the attached file." Any idea on how to remove it and how to clean up my computer, incase it has spread? I tried to google but seems the only virus help out there is for windows or pc.

Thanks community I really appreciate any help I can get.

Regards,

Srobin

Malwarebytes for Mac doesn't scan for Windows infections, which appears to be what the OP is dealing with.

And ClamXAV is free for thirty days, which is more than enough time to deal with this specific issue.

That being said, removing an infection from a PDF document is probably not possible at all and certainly not by using any Anti-malware software designed for Mac use. The document should be deleted.

Hello Srobins1,

That is because there aren't any viruses for the Mac. Adware is pretty common on the Mac. The problem with situations like this is that false positives or some other error (on your e-mail recipient's side) is most likely to blame for this.

Where did you get this PDF? Could it have come to you with a virus in it?
