I started the "setting up your new iPad" process on my new iPad using an old iPad to transfer the data and the battery died on the old iPad before the setup was complete. How do I restart the set up process on the new iPad?

I tried to set up a new iPad MR7J2LLA using an old iPad running iOS 11 and the battery in the old iPad died before the process was complete. The new iPad shows the message " setting up your Apple ID" while the old iPad does not seem to be transferring any data to the new iPad. How do I restart the process?

I assume that you were using Quick Start from the way that you described what happened. If you were setting up that way and the old iPad died, restart the new iPad, start all over again and restore the backup that you hopefully and should have made before you got the new iPad.

If you don’t have backup, then you have to start all over again. You can download purchased apps, music and books again, but all data is gone if you don’t have a backup.
