Reinstall new copy of macOS Sierra (NOT WORKING)
MacBook Air
Sorry, the phone call went on for 1 hour, had to do so many things most of which i cannot remember,
OK, understood.
Yes, there is no volume showing. Did you erase the disk at some point? I hope you have a backup. It also says "unformatted". Try formatting for Mac OS Extended (Journaled). That should create a Macintosh HD volume.
Also, if you are trying to install Sierra, did you know that High Sierra has the same specs as Sierra?
What do you mean you have no formatting option? Just click on Apple SSD (as shown in your screenshot) and and Erase the disk. It should automatically create a single volume formatted for Mac OS (Extended (Journaled).
Boot into Recovery Mode and run Disk Utility > First Aid. Then try again.
I have no formatting option for the Mac OS Extended, guess i have got an expensive door stop
Thanks for your help, i have the problem solved, macbook working fine, phoned apple support spent almost 1 hour on phone, Thanks.
You're welcome, glad you got it solved. Can you share the solution?
