Can't record internal sound with screen recording

Just updated to iOS 11.3 and now my iPhone can't screen record internal sound/system audio. My microphone mic is turned off (because I do not need to record external sound), and the ringer (side button) is ON. I play music on iTunes, YouTube, etc and try to record the audio internally (via earphones, not through speaker) but when I go to photos and replay it no sound can be heard. I was able to do so before (surprisingly it even recorded with the volume at zero) so I'm extremely frustrated to find that gone. Is this a bug? Does anyone know how to record internal sound? HELP please??? There are there are so many problems this new recording feature, Apple, please, would appreciate it if you could upgrade it's performance, because the idea itself is great. Thank you in advance 🙂

I see that you're unable to hear sound when taking a screen recording. I'd be happy to provide you with some information to help.

What you're dealing with is DRM, Digital Rights Management. Items purchased from the iTunes Store are protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM). Some apps also protect their content with DRM, and this is why you're unable to hear audio on the recordings.

Thank you so much! I had known about the DRM but I hadn’t realized that was the problem, silly of me. I’ve tried with various apps after getting your reply and found out that while some gave me audio, the ones I was having trouble with still didn’t give me audio, so the DRM was indeed the case in my prior attempts. Seems like I hadn’t recognized the types of media in which I had succeeded (prior to the update) and was sprouting that I had been able record from YouTube etc.
