since the 10.10.14 rolled out I'm trying to upgrade from 10.10.13 but every time I restart to finish installation my MacBook Air 2017 stuck in a black screen with the touchpad arrow in the corner of the screen .
I tried to download it again and reinstalling the update but I end up with the same result. I create a new account with a new user name but same result

1. Are you eventually able to get past the black screen?
2. When you reinstalled the macOS again, how did you do it?
3. Do you use a secondary monitor?

thanks a lot Joseph the second solution fix it.
now the update been installed but still I can't shut my machine completely stuck in that place screen .
unable updating to 10.10.14
