I had this issue for quite some time now and almost giving up on ATV altogether.
Internet, WiFi, Ethernet all working fine but problem persists. No one had a solution
TO FIX IT
Go to settings/general/reset -> restore and reinstall the software completely.
Then under Audio/Video set the resolution to 1024 and HDMI to auto
That worked for me.
Update: I'm using ATV 2nd gen - but the issue has occured also for 3rd gen - there are hundreds of posts about this issue without a solution. This is working now so I hope it helps
Typically those issues are network related, you didn’t say how you verified things on your end. Proper troubleshooting would need to occur as other things can often be temporary workarounds until the underlying issue resurfaces.
Please include your model Apple TV when sharing your experiences. Advice for one model may not apply to a different model.
