can not delete databases in privacy

I have a problem of not being able to delete specific items under Safari preferences privacy tab, specifically database items.

At least daily I first delete caches under the developers menu, then I remove all but a select number of entries under privacy which are mostly financial entries. For example, I do not use Google or Facebook and do not want them snooping around, but a lot of sites will automatically add Facebook or many Google items. I have checked asking not to be tracked, preventing cross-site tracking, and block pop-up windows.

If I get a certain database item deleted and just scroll down, the item will reappears. Further attempts with that item will usually not even temporarily delete the item until a reboot.

There are now 3 site databases that will not delete or stay deleted and have been trying for the last five days. This has happened about a month ago and the only way I found to remove the stubborn database item was to delete all, which included items I didn't want to delete. This causes a problem as I have to reconfirm with a bank or other financial institution that the computer is authorized to access the account because of multi-level security. These same security steps happen on iPhone and iPad with these institutions.

The databases currently non-removable are from sites I have visited (Sony, Epson, Adobe).

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4), 2.7 GHz, 8 GB, 5 external drives

Delete Database files

Backup your Mac.

Quit Safari.

Hold the Option key on the keyboard down and click the “Go”menu in the Finder menu bar.

Choose “Library” from the dropdown.

Scroll down the list.

Click open the Safari folder.

Scroll down the list and click open the “Databases” folder.

Click open the “IndexedDB folder”.

If you find the items there, right click and choose “Move to Trash”

or select all and move to Trash.

Restart your Mac, launch Safari holding the shift key on the keyboard down and test.
