The App store keeps telling me to update iMovie. How do I decline this update (or any update for an app I don't use)? I am using Mac OS 10.14.4

Turn off auto update.

Thanks Ziatron! We were away for a few days but just saw your reply and have turned it off. Think we should manually check for updates weekly or so just for security purposes.
Do you know if there is any harm in deleting some less-useful Apple apps such as iMovie and Garageband? We certainly don't want to remove Safari even though we don't use it often as we think that is too "system-related" whereas we would think that the Mac would be happy without iMovie and Garageband.
