Why is iTunes music at different volume levels?

The volume problems began with ipods. I have 10X iPhone and there’s still a large range of not only sound quality, but volume. I understand some music is older, however everyone complains about the sound flucuations.

If my music is set to shuffle (not ever loving that) It’s possible to go from a soft lullaby like Baby Mine to high volume Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Please update with a standard volume so all music is consistant. Thank you, Susan Lazenby

The volume level is determined by the way the audio file is encoded. You can compensate for varying degrees of loudness of different songs by going to Settings>Music, and turning on Sound Check.
