Apple Care Message - Virus?

Has anyone received recently a message from Apple Care on their desktop screen indicating that they have a virus? It instruct you to click on the link to get rid of it. Doesn't sound legit.

Hi

I had the same thing pop up as a Safari window and was alerted to the fact it was likely to be scam popup as it purported to come from AppleCare and I know I had not signed up to that beyond any initial free service which came with the iMac and I didn't think the iMAC came with any anti-virus scanning software anyway. Also the screen indicated there would be problems in "1 min 56 seconds before damage permanent" again which sounded wrong as if a machine was infected any virus software would generally report it had found it (and done nothing else). Hence as per other replies I thought it a scam and killed the Safari window. Screenshot below if its of use.
