iTunes Online Radio not working.

Hello,

My 2010 iMac running macOS Sierra cannot play any online radio. It's symptoms are that it can only play one online radio station he wants to listen to. Any others and iTunes locks up. Every time you try clicking another station or even just a song on the computer, it just does the Mac sound effect "Funk." Then a windows pops up for a little bit that says "Opening URL" for the title bar, and in the window there is a bar that says "connecting." Another thing to note is that the menubar also locks up. None of the categories for iTunes work. This only recently happened after updating iTunes. The only way we found to fix it is by force quitting the application and reopening it.

Any Suggestions?

Hello Stomptoblock,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. It's my understanding that you're only able to play one radio station in iTunes. When a new song or station is chosen, iTunes doesn't respond as expected and becomes unresponsive. Force quitting iTunes was a great step, but since the issue persists I have a couple of other steps that can help.

First, test this issue in safe mode. Starting in safe mode allows your Mac to run certain checks, remove caches, and prevent login items from automatically launching. This can isolate possible third party issues. Use the steps and information in the link below for assistance with safe mode:
Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

If the issue persists, test in another user account. This will help determine if the issue is user specific or system wide.
How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Let us know the results. Please include any error messages and other troubleshooting steps you may have tried.

Have a great day!
