My "Notes" app is frozen on a blank page that says "Folders"

[iphone 5s]

I've seen some questions on here with the same problem, but not anyone who has found a working solution. I've closed out the application and tried to reopen it

countless times, I've hard restarted my phone, I tried to backup the app, but nothing's changing.

I've relied on Notes way too much for several years and have many memos I really need to retrieve, not to mention I would like to be able to use it again. Please help if you can

Hi there, Whywontelectronicseverwork.

I see that the Notes application is only showing you folders but the notes are missing. I'm happy to help.

iCloud: View notes in iCloud -- If you were using iCloud to sync your notes across your devices, you can view them through a browser on a Mac or PC. If they're there, make sure that you've signed into iCloud your iPhone 5s with the correct Apple ID and password and that Notes has been turned on. Settings > [your name] > iCloud to turn on Notes. Some email accounts will also store your notes. Using their webmail sites, see if your notes are stored there. If they are, tap Settings > Accounts & Passwords, tap the email account and turn Notes on.
Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup -- If you backed up your iPhone 5s while the notes were present on the device, you can restore the backup. Be aware that the information on your iPhone will revert to the date of the backup.

Take care!
