Fan runs high w/ screensaver since 10.13.4

A previous thread (https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7472646) touches on this topic but the "Helpful Answer" is actually not helpful to me as the suggestion (change the screensaver to "classic" and use a "default" source) doesn't make any difference. No matter which screensaver option I choose, my fan kicks in and runs high and loud for the duration. As soon as I return to my computer and do anything on it, the fan quiets down and the computer cools off (to the touch and according to Monity).

I'm on a MacBook Pro Retina, 15-inch, mid-2015 i7. I've always used the "classic" setting and my Photos as the source, and have never had this issue until the latest OS update (10.13.4).

Yesterday I spent an hour chatting with an Apple rep who had me reinstall High Sierra and obviously this did no good as I didn't catch the pattern until afterwards (fun waste of an hour!) and obviously the rep hadn't heard of this issue (though he agreed it sounded like a 10.13.4 issue, though he simply suggested compressed air at the fan and that there had been some "glitch" in the update).

Has anyone else experienced this with 10.13.4? It would be nice if Apple would look into this for the next update, though I see it's been an intermittent issue for users over various versions for many years now. I'm glad I know what the trouble is, but I'd like to be able to actually use the screensaver without my laptop feeling like an inferno.

So an update on this last post. The fans running hot actually caused my battery to expand and caused me to pay out of pocket to replace and fix my 2015 MBP.

Here is some proof. With Mac OS 10.13.5 Apple removed the ability to set Apple's Photo App albums as an option in the screensaver options.

And while this solved the issue, they make no mention of the Photos app in the 10.13.5 Release notes -

But the damage was done to my MBP. Thanks for the transparency Apple.

Upon further research, I have been able to reproduce the fans spinning up somehow being related to the "Photos" app. What I mean is when I set my screensaver back to sat Photo Wall the problem comes right back. I did open the Photos app on my mac and just let it run and it did seem to calm the fans down but only after I changed my setting back to the Google+ Screensaver.

Please, Apple look into this.
