Macbook won't stop collating!

For a few weeks now, I cannot get my Macbook Pro to stop collating when printing! It doesn't matter what application I'm using, either. I had selected it a while back because I actually wanted something to collate, but now, even if I uncheck the collate box in Word. I tried to go to printer settings on the Mac menu, but it doesn't seem to have any option for collating or not. I've tried to print from Word and I've tried to print PDF's. Again, even if I make sure the Collate box is unchecked, it STILL collates the papers! I'm beyond frustrated here.
