Multiple calendars and alerts

Hi there apple support community. I am running iMac, macbook pro, iPhone and iPad.

I often have multiple calendars (I only want one) showing as well as up to eight calendar alerts

for the one calendar event. How can I fix this? I update the OS and apps all the time.

My iCloud is turned on and paid up for storage.

Hope someone can help out here please?

I also seem to receive one email per device per event, so 5 devices = 5 emails for every event. I have everything turned off everywhere, alert-wise, as far as I can tell. It's infuriating.
