In what way do I alter the clamav sample .conf files to finish installation?

Hi, I need to edit the clamav sample .conf files to finish install of clamav. In what way do these files need to be altered to get clamav up and running?

I am running Mac Os 10.13.4

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), Other OS, using El Capitan public release

I suggest that if you want help with ClamAV that you contact ClamAV.

Personally I would uninstall all third party anti virus apps. In general they provide no benefit at the expense of using system resources.
