It looks like with the most recent iTunes update the podcast date is no longer on the view. Is there a way to add it back? I want to know what podcasts I have to view and see when they were published. It helps me know whether I'm missing anything or if I have it sorted in the order that I want it.

If you go to iTunes / View / View As you can choose Classic View which by using Show View Options allows you to show the release date, year and other items on the iTunes window.
In iTunes / View / View As / List you can open Podcast Info the get the release date.
There have been a lot of little boneheaded moves with updates, but this was finally the one that motivated me to speak up. This is an absolutely terrible move. Regular podcast listeners often resort to dates to confirm if a podcast is new or not. Please restore the dates in the main list view, and really seek more feedback before implementing these kinds of superficial changes. I can't believe anyone would've felt this was a good idea.
Try switching to the Classic List view. Use Feedback - iTunes - Apple to let them know you'd like them to put the information back in the main List view.
