Check for and remove any profile you have not added.
Quit Safari.
Launch System Preferences from the Dock.
At the bottom of the pane, next Accessibility icon, you might see a “checkmark inside a gear” icon
and text “Profile” written under it.
Click on it to open. Do you see any search or other entries listed?
If so, select it, move the mouse pointer to the bottom and click the ”-“ sign to remove the profile.

You can run EtreCheck and and see whether there is any adware/profile listed or not.
Click “Free Download” button, open Downloads folder, click on it to open, and then select ”Open”.
Click on the bouncing EtreCheck icon in the Dock.
“Choose a problem” from the popup menu box, and then “Start EtreCheck” in the dialog.
Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” .
Paste it into the reply.

I actually had already run through a few of those steps.
Today, called in and connected with support at Apple… we installed Malwarebytes (free trial)… ran it… and found 5 bug-ie files. Malwarebytes automatically trashed those…rebooted… and I’m golden. Just to be safe… ran the Malwarebytes scan again – “all clean”.
*fist pump*
