Mac Mail won't recognize new password

I changed my password on my Comcast email account and now Mac Mail will not recognize the new password. I have changed the password in Mac Mail, and it will work with the outgoing server, but it will not retrieve incoming mail from the IMAP server. I can access the Comcast account on XFinity web site, so the problem is not with Comcast, but with Mac Mail. How can I fix this?

Using High Sierra 10.13.4

iMac, macOS High Sierra (10.13.4)

I know it's important to have access to your email account via the Mail app. With the Mail app open, please select Window > Connection Doctor. This will run a scan of your account and suggest steps to take to resolve the issue. The following guide details the process.
