Finder window selector not switching to active window in High Sierra

Trying to copy/paste across folders in different windows (actual windows not tabs).

Command-C in first window then clicking on second window to make it active, Command-V pastes file in first window. Right click / Paste works in second window, but even then spacebar to rename the file tries to rename the file in the first window.

Anyone has similar issue? Anyone found a fix?

MacOS Go menu commands don't open new windows The commands in the second section of the Go menu only works if a Finder window already exists. I am not sure when this started happening. Example: If I'm on the Desktop with no Finder windows open, neither selecting Utilities from the menu nor typing shift-comand-U does anything, except the menu bar gets greyed out until I click it (it still works though). High Sierra Finder Issues Having issues using finder after update to High Sierra. Finder gets stuck grayed out as if I'm still in another application even though I've clicked on Finder, or Command+Tabbed back to Finder.The Finder window will remain grayed out and the only thing I can do is move between files, but cannot open them using key commands or clicking. Only temporary fix I've found is to go to Force Quit and restart Finder. But that can last anywhere between one new click in Finder up to a whole day. It's random.I'm up-to-date on the Apple updates, any help appreciated.

cannot cycle between finder windows using CMD and ` Hi all... Searched for an hour but can't work this out. I intermittently can't cycle through Finder windows using CMD and backtick. When a file copy is happening i can cycle between that and a finder window but not 2 finder windows. I found a page on here that suggested deleting the plist file but that only solved it temporarily. Any ideas on other fixes? Also is there an option in Mac OS that stops finder expanding all sub folders when you open a folder?
